My sister gave me this Enlightened Buddha so many years ago. We were so young, with so much in front of us... So much to learn and know.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the time, I had heard the word Buddhism but I had no understanding of what that meant. Still, I felt enough to give him a prominent place in every place I’ve called home since.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He looks so gentle and at peace. Two things I aspire to be.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, I am thankful for the gentle reminders he offers and the guidance The Eight Fold Path. Here they are...⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Right view. One must see clearly what is wrong⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Right purpose. One must reassess his values and desires and decide what directive to rectify what is wrong⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Right speech. It is abstinence from lying speech, from backbiting and abusive speech, and from idle babble⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Right action. One must act in a way that is honest, pure, and peaceful⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Right livelihood. Ones work must not make his adherence to the eight fold path possible; nor may it cause suffering for others⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6. Right effort. One must strive to improve himself, to avoid evil, and to develop and preserve what is good⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7. Right awareness. The mind must be kept alert, vigilant, and constantly aware⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8. Right concentration. Through meditation one achieves a comprehension of reality “one pointedness of mind,” which enables the individual to attain a clarity in which truth can be discerned⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Had @2springstreet Yellowtail Crudo the other night… I could have eaten this appetizer all night🍴. Soooo good! The outdoor dining area was nice and servers were attentive. Took pictures on my iPhone throughout the evening. Will post them as soon as I can. Beautiful and absolutely delicious.⁣
